Program Description:
Start Your Year off Right in GERMANY!
Travel to Germany with Parkside Professor Adrienne Viramontes and spend the first 3 weeks of the year at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
Just a 20 minute train ride from Frankfurt, the city of Darmstadt offers a "real-life" experience of German culture.
Students can choose from 2 exciting courses:
International Marketing & Sales (transfers into Parkside as Marketing 356 or Communications 435)
Digital Transformation/Intercultural Communication (transfers into Parkside as Communications 430)
In addition, students will participate in a German language/culture course. Don't worry - no German necessary! (After 3 weeks you will be able to order your own "Bier" in German!)
This amazingly affordable program price includes: airfare, lodging, tuition, academic field trips and planned excursions to Frankfurt and Heidelberg and other cultural activities. See Budget Sheet above for costs. Wisconsin residents with a GPA of 2.5 may be eligible for a Wisconsin Study Abroad grant up to $750.

Students are expected to:
Carry own luggage
Share lodging accommodations
Walk a minimum of 2 miles daily
Mount staircases
Locate and arrange own meals (restaurants/groceries)
Navigate through Darmstadt independently
Respectfully adapt to new foods & traditions
Take care of own health/medical needs
Attend programmed activities planned throughout the day
Adhere to rules & safety guidelines
Respectfully adapt to local behavior/social practices
Address others with respect & dignity
Adapt to the demands of group travel (limited independence & alone time)
Communicate issues & concerns to group coordinator
