Program Information:

Join us in the Mediterranean this January Term for this unique travel-study program. Traveling ten cities in fifteen days, soak up the history of Rome and explore the Greek islands. From under the rays of light pouring in from St. Peter's Basilica to exploring the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena in Greece, you'll gain a great insight into the art, archeology, history and literature of these ancient civilizations.

Start getting excited about:
  • Visiting the birthplace of western civilization - The Mediterranean region is often regarded as the region of the world with some of the most influential civilizations in western history. On this program you won’t only be reading about this history, you will be seeing, touching, and feeling it all around you!
  • Escaping the winter for a bit of Mediterranean sunshine - Shed that winter coat and take a walk around the lively avenues of Rome and the island villages of Crete. As you explore these different locations and all that they have to offer -- from the grandeur of the Colosseum to the peaceful poise of the Parthenon -- you won’t ever want to come back (talk to us about staying on for the spring semester at a discounted price).
  • Choosing from several courses for your academic experience - Earn academic credit in the following fields: art, archaeology, history and politics, or religion. All courses are taught by experts in their fields, with a combination of classroom-based lectures and on-site learning. The classes offered are great to complete your general education requirements, as electives in your coursework, or to count towards your major.

The academic component of the program consists of lectures from leading experts in the fields being explored during the program. Particular attention will be paid to the history of art and archaeology, as well as philosophical literature from the Mediterranean Basin, from Antiquity to Middle Ages.

Here are just a few of the reasons why you should participate in this amazing January-term study abroad program:

  • Winter break program allows you to get ahead academically
  • Visit ten Mediterranean cities in 17 days
  • Study in a variety of subjects with world-renowned lecturers
  • Great support services with English-speaking staff
  • Fun experiential learning using the cities as your classroom
