Program Description:

From December - January, Hessen International Winter Universities (IWUs) take place at various universities in the state of Hessen, Germany.  Each offers interesting study topics from a wide range of subject areas.  Each program requires a 2-credit German language and culture course which is taught at different levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) as well as an additional 3 credit course (See below).  Included with the 5 credit program cost is free housing, various excursions and cultural events.

Winter programs are offered at the following universities:   
  • Kassel : "Environmental Engineering- Renewable Energy Sources"  (20 day program)
  • Fulda:  "German Culture & Society", "Intercultural Competence" "Sustainability"  (20 day program)
  • Darmstadt: "Int'l Marketing & Sales" or "Sustainable Supply Chains"  - (16 day program)
There is a Hessen program application fee of $100 required for this program.
